Who will I be in the industry?
What is at the heart of what I want to pursue and achieve?
Quick Background
I am from southeast Texas and was a top 3% graduate from East Chambers High School. The youngest in my family, I’ve lived life watching my siblings and cousins in their careers, able to choose and navigate my path from that. Growing up a 3rd generation Winnie resident, my hometown gives me a solid foundation and drive to develop areas that would benefit surrounding communities while also paying mind to farm and open land used to support those communities and their members.
About Me
Free Time and Hobbies
In my free time, I like to spend as much time with my family and friends as I can. The range of activities could be anything - from road trips to days at the house, trying different ice cream shops, or watching the littles play their sports. I enjoy being creative - painting, drawing, doing projects, and more. I’m also a frequent visitor to Chuys and Waffle House (always hoping College Station will have one someday). One day I’ll get into golf or pickleball, but right now, I’m more of a driving range aficionado.
Life in College Station
Choosing Texas A&M
Although I briefly considered three other universities toward the end of high school, Texas A&M was always the dream. As a first-generation Aggie, and the only one in my family, it’s not lost on me what a privilege it is to be a part of this university and how truly special it’s been to share it with my family and friends for the past 5 years.
From Planning to Development
My undergraduate studies have served me well and been a great foundation for the MLPD program. Preparing us to effectively approach challenges and solve problems, the urban planning program teaches us how to identify needs in communities and meaningfully design and develop the built environment.
Why MLPD?
I’ve always had an interest in home building and development (started drawing floor plans and elevations at 11), and through planning, I found the MLPD program. Learning more about it, I knew it encompassed everything I wanted to achieve. It’s been invaluable in pushing me to find my place in the industry and giving me the tools and confidence to pursue it head on.
