Activities / Volunteerism

The Real Estate Development Association (REDA)

The Real Estate Development Association has allowed students to connect and network within the industry and the programs we are part of. As a member, we are able to attend speaker series’, go on site visits to different real estate projects, visit with past members of the program and association, as well as form important connections.

Professional Women in Building

In 2022, the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) created the Professional Women in Building Council. Since then, there have been several quarterly events for over 300 members and prospective members to connect. These events are opportunities for women in the industry across Greater Houston area to network, support, and promote the women in the real estate development, acquisition, and construction industry, regardless of niche or career stage.

Ladies in Land

Ladies in Land is a group for female land professionals in the Greater Houston area to network and connect with each other, regardless of the area you usually work in. Through meetings, speaker series, luncheons, and email chains, Ladies in Land promotes and encourages growing your knowledge and network in the development space.

The Annual Bransford Arty

For the past three years, I have been able to volunteer at my nephews’ biggest school fundraiser, the Bransford Arty Gala. Bransford Elementary is the designated Fine Arts Integrated Campus for Grapevine Colleyville ISD. The students are able to have fine arts integrated into the core curriculum, as well as having the opportunity to learn piano, take theater, be part of a “news” crew, and many other artistic avenues.

Raising over $50,000 at the 2024 Arty in April, this year’s event sent staff to Washington D.C. to get training from several different fine arts institutions and programs to better serve the students. Volunteering at the event, which only builds the program to be better each year, is important to me as I know how much the program has fostered a love and continuation of creativity in my nephews and given them the opportunity to explore what interests them most.
